Most of the high-end devices usually include the feature called geo-tagging. Most high-end Nokia devices already have the feature. And because of the popularity of geo-tagging, other devices that are not high-end are now starting to include this feature in their applications as well. As of now, iPhone does not have this feature yet. But soon, it will have geo-tagging just like other high-end devices.

Geo-tagging is actually not as complicated as it sounds. This is when the device writes the current position (geographical description meta data) of the image being taken once the image has been saved to the memory.

The

geo-tagging feature was revealed in an update 2.0 firmware. This was dubbed as the 5A292g. The geo-tagging will definitely work out for all the handsets that are GPS enabled just like the latest iPhone that Apple will soon launch. However, many are asking if the geo-tagging feature will still work on iPhones that are GPS-challenged? Of course, it will.

However, others say that it might not. As of the moment, in order to know the specific location, iPhone is using the cell site triangulation. But even if this system is not precise compared to the GPS, it can be detailed enough for most applications.
