More than half of online consumers would not buy 3G iPhone
Through the help of its Consumer Behavior Report, PriceGrabber.com explored the pricing history as well as the purchasing trends of the 3G iPhone. There were more than 3,000 online consumers that became a part of this survey and the study was conducted from the 20th of May until the 5th of June 2008.

Without a doubt, the second-generation iPhone created so much noise even before Steve Jobs officially launched the device last June 9, 2008. And not until the mass gets hold of the much-awaited smartphone, this will still become the most talked-about device. Moreover, the 3G iPhone also raised the expectations of the customers of other mobile phone vendors.
At least four percent of the respondents already own the first-generation iPhone. However, only 42 percent of the online consumers said that they are willing to buy the 3G iPhone. The other 54 percent said that they do not have plans of purchasing one. Out of the 54 percent, at least 41 percent of the respondents mentioned that they do not wish to buy the 3G iPhone because they said that the device is very expensive. They rather have Motorola, Samsung or BlackBerry since the price of the mobile phones is lower compared to Apple’s iPhone. On the other hand, the other 22 percent do not wish to have a 3G iPhone because they do not wish to use AT&T and opt for other carrier instead. However, this may all change since this survey was conducted days before Apple announced that the 3G iPhone will be sold at $199 only.
