O2 are claiming to have sold tens of thousands of iPhones in the UK since it’s launch on Friday at 6.02 PM saying “It has been the fastest-selling device we have ever seen.”

Two thirds of customers buying the iPhone




were new customers to O2 according to Peter Erskine, the chief executive of the mobile group which raises speculation about the potential hit to rivals such as Vodafone and Orange from its exclusive deal with Apple.
