O2 slash £100 off 8GB iPhone

O2 and the Carephonewarehouse have today slashed the price of the 8GB iPhone from £269 to £169. This is a limited offer and is due to run out on 1st June 2008.

The 16GB model’s price remains the same at £329

O2 said the offer would be available on the original iPhone tariffs which start at 35 pounds per month and the operator expects it to create additional momentum for O2′s fastest selling device.

Tempting as this might seem speculation grows of a new 3G version due to be released soon and this price drop could be a way of trying to clear existing stocks of the 8GB iPhone before the new version goes on sale.

I am downright outraged by this slashing of £100 off the 8gig. What about all those people who willingly paid £269 upwards for their iPhone?

Should we get a refund of £100? Who do we complain to? Apple? Apple Store? O2? Carphone Warehouse?

Is there someone in the know on these things who can give opinion or advice on this? I know Apple are secretive buggers but this takes the biscuit!
