The popular App for taking music from your iPod amongst many has been Podworks. While similar free solutions exist Podworks has one feature that beats them all and is something I would like to highlight on the Blog: support for iPhone song retrieval.

The App features very close integration with iTunes and can actually take the songs from your iPhone and import them. No word on video retrieval but you can expect a posted review shortly. PodWorks is available from http://www.scifihifi.com/podworks/ with a 30 day limited demo and $8 license.

Press release below.

SAN FRANCISCO, California - September 4, 2007 - Sci-Fi Hi-Fi software today

introduced support for Apple’s iPhone in PodWorks, the popular iPod

management application. PodWorks users can now use PodWorks’ easy-to-use

interface to transfer songs and videos from their iPhone to any Mac running

OS X (10.3 and above).  iPhone users can take advantage of that feature

without hacking or modifying their phone in any way.  PodWorks 2.9.2 is

currently available for $8 (US) through the Sci-Fi Hi-Fi website (

http://www.scifihifi.com/podworks).  Upgrades are free to existing users.

PodWorks has been consistently recommended by Mac authorities, such as the

Wall Street Journal’s Walter Mossberg, since its introduction in 2003.

Sci-Fi Hi-Fi is proud to continue its best-of-class iPod support by offering

the first Mac song transfer application to work with every current iPod,

from the original 5 GB to the iPhone
