Owners of iPhones are now beginning to receive the chargers due for replacement due to a possible defect under certain conditions where the metal prongs could break off and pose an electrical threat.

Included with the new adapters is a self stamped and addressed envelope where you are to send back the old charger. Also stated is that
if you do not do this, Apple will charge you $29. Maybe it is so they get the old ones out of circulation? This seems viable, but not the best way to establish goodwill with a customer base, it must be said. At least they paid for the stamp.
Initial reports are that the new charger has had no problems.
