The co-CEO of Research in Motion said that their company isn’t swayed by the latest product from Apple Inc. – the second generation iPhone. James Balsillie also said that they know their position and they are still ahead of the game.

James Balsillie even boasted that their BlackBerry’s email service is far more reliable compared to that of Apple’s 3G iPhone. Moreover, their BlackBerry’s keyboard is also better for those who are in the corporate world.

When Apple Inc. launched its second-generation iPhone, it already sold as much as one million units within three days of its existence in the market. This obviously stole a

big part of the potential customers of the BlackBerry. Added to that, the debut of the 3G iPhone also contributed to the drop of RIM’s stock. Research in Motion’s stock has a record of $148.13 during the month of June. It dropped as much as 31 percent during the month of July.

Research in Motion’s plan includes boosting its marketing strategy. This means that they will allocate more money for their advertisements. They are also planning to hire more engineers as well as accelerate the product introductions. This will be first implemented on their BlackBerry Bold which is expected to hit the market in the next few months.

      PDF on BlackBerry is horrific

Comparison of how iPhone and Blackberry renders PDF files. A co-worker and I received a notice about an employee injury.

      BB says:
What part of the body was injured? ZODIAC LINE LEFT HAND

iPhone flawlessly, beautifully and zoomingly rendered the PDF which said:
Where did the incident happen? ZODIAC LINE

What part of the body was injured? LEFT HAND

When he asked “What’s the zodiac line on the hand?” I said it was ’somewhere near the lifeline’ once I stopped laughing!!

That tiny screen is only good for reading a few lines of email.
How can they expect to compete with iPhone that has bright
and large display. RIMM is going down hill from now!
