Russia and China still has a thriving iPhone black market
Not all countries have the chance to purchase Apple Inc.’s second-generation iPhone. Do you want one for yourself? Then try to book a flight going to Russia. Prepare $1,200 if you want the 8 GB model of the 3G iPhone. But if you want more space for your music, videos and data, then prepare $1,370 so that you can purchase a 16 GB model for yourself.

Apple Inc. already tried several negotiations so that the company can bring the 3G iPhone both in China and in Russia. Unfortunately, the black markets in these countries are still flourishing. According to the recent reports, there are at least 400,000 second-generation iPhones sold in Russia’s black market. And it is expected that there are two times more iPhones in China sold in black market.
But why is Apple Inc. taking so long to distribute the second-generation iPhone legally in Russia and in China? According to the CEO of the company, Steve Jobs, Apple Inc. is still on the process of going through the hoops before it can be distributed in China. But they are hoping that the highly-anticipated second-generation iPhone will be available in Russia as well as China before the year 2008 ends.
