Shell Access


The iPhone is one of the latest cell phones introduced by Apple in the market. Its distinctive features make it one of the best cell phones ever seen by man. It has a combination of an iPod, cell phone and the internet device that is all coupled into one single product. With these features, the iPhone can be an important means of providing information. The best thing in this iPhone is that; while receiving or sending SMS’s, it automatically corrects the mistakes. Its Visual voice mail feature allows one to access the message directly and one can either attend or ignore the calls and messages.

Shell Access

What would a person do if he had the access to the iPhone wallpapers, icons and ring tones? Well, similar kind of an access is being gained by the IRC channel #iPhone members. It stands to be one of the biggest moments in the department




of iPhone hacking. By using a serial console, resistor soldering and some command squirting, one can end the full shell access. Instructions are available, but one has to use it at his own risk and with the appropriate cable. Files are accessed in a normal mode using .afc, and then the services change to plist and fstab. Add two more params to afcd (-d and /) and then change the fstab to mount /dev/disks1 rw. Upload these two files to the sandbox and enter recovery with the help of the combo button. One has to type grestore in the recovery shell and the restore mode cmds. It appears with FileSystemCheck /dev/disk0s2, Mount /dev/disk0s1 /mnt1 and Mount /dev/disk0s2 /mnt2. One can do this by using the ditto copy of the files in the exact location. The sandbox in at /mnt2/root/Nedia, Heavenly is in /mnt1 and Services.plist and fstab need to go back into Heavenly folder.
