ShiveringKittens app to pass on $1 from each sale to ASPCA

In what is believed to be a first (hopefully not the last), proceeds from app sales will be going to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

iPhone app developers of ShiveringKittens will donate $1 from every sale to the organization. It’s a very cool, grand gesture (and news worthy to help with sales and visibility, no doubt).

Giant Crayon Games releases the app, and the game offers players the chance to rescue kittens frozen in ice of the Minnesota winter and win points. The goal is to arrange falling blocks to free the furry animals. Sadly the game is not as simple as the real life ambitions of freeing animals.

Available for sale at $2.99 now, the developers will be passing on the dollars to the non-profit organisation for all sales throughout March and April. The first of it’s kind where proceeds of an iPhone app sale head to charity, I hope that firstly, at least consider buying this app (whether you play it or not) and secondly, that more developers put themselves out to help others. It’s something devs of all kinds of successful apps for all platforms should be thinking about.

“Sadly the game is not as simple as the real life ambitions of freeing animals. ”

I think you meant this the other way around…as it stands you’re saying that freeing animals in real life is simpler than freeing them in the game, which is highly unlikely.
