July 11 is almost near and the 3G iPhone will sooner be out on the market. And because of this, several companies as well as analysts are now surveying potential clients and Apple Inc.’s market to know whether the latest will have an instant boom or not. According to these different surveys, the 3G iPhone’s market may face challenges in some quarters.

Coming from the report of Financial Times, they stated that it would be difficult for the Apple Inc. to unseat the BlackBerry from the business markets. There were at least 100 chief information officers who were surveyed and only two mentioned that they have the intention to use the 3G iPhone in their business. However, this would happen after a year that the second-generation iPhone is officially out in the
An analyst from Bernstein Research, Toni Sacconaghi, said that the use of 3G iPhone in the corporate environment will be driven by the employees who will be purchasing their own device. If this would continue, Toni Sacconaghi said that this might limit the penetration of 3G iPhone in the corporate world.
However, this survey may not reflect veracity at all. As of the moment, 35% of the 500 companies are now testing the business applications on the 3G iPhone.
An iShare survey was also conducted in Japan where it revealed that almost 91 percent of the 402 respondents said that they do not have plans in purchasing the iPhone. But this survey was conducted few weeks ago before Steve Jobs announced that the 3G iPhone will sell at $199 only.

The 2nd piece of news is a no brainer: 91% said they have no intention of buying the iPhone. That’s a negative way to put that already 9% say there buying the iPhone as soon as it comes out. How much is 9% of the whole Japanese market? 9% of 100 million is 9 million iPhones sold when they start selling the device. Now how little is that?! And that’s before the 3G iPhone was announced and before the network operators and Apple put their marketing machine to work!
These surveys are misleading. I work in an office with 20 others, 19* of us have a four-month old Dell desktops with the Vista system. Nothing keeps an IT department busy like a new MSFT product! Vista is a source of constant trouble and/or annoyance. IT staffers know nothing about Apple because they don’t need to. Asking IT people whether they will buy Apple is like asking the cop outside the stadium how to sneak in.
