Sign of the times? iFart app sales triple over Christmas holiday
It turns out that putting out the silliest of apps can actually bring in a bit of cash for the developer, more than many anticipated. The statistics below are (sort of) a comment on the times.

iFart Mobile developer has revealed that sales of his iFart Mobile application were boosted over 3x over the course of Christmas eve and Christmas day. MacRumors had previously reported the sales numbers for the #1 spot had topped out at 13,274 units on December 22nd.
The developer reveals that on Christmas eve sales jumped to 19,520 units and on Christmas day sales shot up to 38,927 (that many people wanted a farting app?). After Apple’s cut, that represents $27,249 in net revenue for Christmas day alone, a truly amazing figure. It’s nothing you would be proud to write in big letters on your resume, but hey, money is money and these sales figures are eye-popping.
It’ll be interesting to see if these figures continues once the “novelty factor” of the NSFW apps wears off and the iPhone becomes more of a mass media device.

The timers and security feature make this app a great prank accomplice for office pranks. Until you have tried this app out on an unsuspecting co-worker you have not even begun to fully appreciate what the developers of this app have created. Well done, InfoMedia, Inc.
