SipPhone on iPhone now available in the app store

SipPhone on iPhone will turn your iPhone or iPod Touch 2nd generation into a fully working Sip Phone that routes your calls over VOIP when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

SipPhone on iPhone

The application is not tied to any one carrier so you can enter the details of your current SIP provider into the account settings and start enjoying cheap calls over Wi-Fi. We tested it with a Connexin VoIP account and had the app up and running within a couple of minutes.

When the application is running you can even receive calls directly to your iPhone or iPod Touch 2nd generation when someone calls your SIP telephone number. If only you could use apps in background.

You can run applications in the background with a Jailbroken application called Backgrounder. This is probably the number one reason to jailbreak your phone.

    Hi,,

works fine on Speakezy (Australia) I had to use a public STRUM server, go get the return audio, but generally easy to set up good quality.

I find the volume low in calibration..

so as mobile alternate to the LinkSys Desk phone . when I travel a lot is great..

would be nice to run in background, but my use is outbound when I am mobile anyway..

Conference call would be nice, I use that on the Linksys.

finally,. true mobile (Wifi anyway) VOIP.

    good luck,, T..

It’s terrible! It’s total static at the receiving end (fine on the iphone) – it’s painful to the receiver. Can’t believe I spent $9 on such a useless program.
I am currently searching for a help file with settings I can tweak, which is why I’m here.

It’s a good software, works fine in America, Romania and UK.
For the ones that have problems in configuring it, they can send me an email and I can help them with the configuration. paul (at) sarstiuc (dot) ro if you need more info.

From 1 to 10, I give an 7+ to the software!

It works perfectly. Period. I use this every day and the quality is great. If the quality of ‘your’ calls is lacking, check the speed and strength of your network connection.

It’s the best app out there for this.

It works great, I am using it with VaxTele SIP Server (www.vaxtele.com) as SIP client. It is the coolest softphone I have ever seen!!!
