SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone submitted to App Store
Sling Media’s SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone page has recently been updated to announce that the application has been submitted to the App Store and is awaiting approval.

We’re been working hard to bring the SlingPlayer Mobile experience to the iPhone and iPod Touch. We’ve submitted the first release of our application to the iPhone App Store. In the mean time, take a sneak peek!
Sling Media’s iPhone page also includes a video preview demonstrating the functionality of the upcoming application.
SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone was displayed at Macworld in January, with Sling Media promising at the time that the application would be submitted to the App Store in March, and they’ve kept their promise. This is yet another awaited application heading towards the Store for the iPhone.
Knowing Apple’s backlog that we’ve reported on a few times, it could be a week or two at least, but at least the app is completed and heading your way.

Skype for iPad supports video calling and will be released very soon.
Has anyone actually bought one of these “Players”?
Doesn’t it do the same but less features as say, a Mac Mini atatched to an HDTV?
I had a slingbox for my Motorola Q. They work great! You can watch cable tv and even tivo on your phone.
Elric – a Mac attached to a HDTV??? A slingbox “slings” your TV or cable box to other devices via the internet (watch your home DVR on your laptop in the airport) — or sling your home DVR to your iphone … a mac attached to a TV does nothing but play avi or whatever movie format you have on your TV.
