Not all 3G iPhone customers can get their hands on the highly-anticipated device this July. According to O2, some of the customers have to wait until the month of August before they can avail of Apple Inc.’s second-generation iPhone. Fortunate are those who can purchase the iPhone 3G on July 11.

According to O2, the supply of the second-generation iPhone will be limited for the first few weeks. They are aware that the customers will be very much disappointed with this news.

Early this week, there are already at least 200,000 customers who registered their interest on O2’s website. But there are only 40 units of iPhone in

every store of O2 (O2 currently have 450 stores). This simply means that there are only 18,000 units available in all stores of O2.

As of the moment, O2 no longer accepts pre-orders from their website since the supplies had already ran out. A spokesman from O2 said that they are now working closely with Apple Inc. so that they can order more 3G iPhones. Apple Inc. declined to give a comment.

O2 gave an advice for those who would like to get their hands on the second-generation iPhone. They have to be early in line by July 11. O2 will opening their stores as early as 8 in the morning.
