Time flies quickly. It seems like the debut of the 3G iPhone just happened yesterday when all of a sudden you would realize that it has already been a month since the device was launched. The second-generation iPhone and the App Store is truly a success.

Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc, recently announced that the number of applications downloaded by the iPhone as well as iPod Touch users has already reached 60 million. Since the App Store was launched in July 11, 2008 until today, this simply means that there are almost two million applications downloaded by the Apple device users every day.
The revenue that the applications earned reached as much as $30 million. Seventy percent of the revenue is for the developers while the remaining thirty percent was kept by Apple Inc.
Most of the downloaded applications were the free ones. Free applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch had an average revenue worth 50 cents for every download.
Analysts said that if the sales of the downloaded applications will have the same pace continuously, Apple Inc. will surely earn as much as $360 million every year.
Steve Jobs said that the application downloads will be a crest to half a billion in the near future.
