sync iphone wirelessly

With the Zune 2 bringing wireless syncing out of the box, many iPhone hackers are giving the iPhone a little competitive nudge by rigging up some solutions of their own. There have been a couple that have popped up here and there, but the closest to the Zune in terms of ease of use is the one developed by eddanx.

It uses the WinAmp plugin ml_ipod, which supports syncing to shared folders. It

additionally requires that the iPhone be jailbroken and have SSH running on it.

Unfortunately it bypasses iTunes altogether, loosing the functionality of contact, calendar, movie, and phone syncing, but other than that, it works pretty well.

So far there isn’t one of these for the iPod touch, but whether you give it a try, let us know.

You can get a full set of directions here.
