The carrier of the 3G iPhone in Italy, Telecom Italia SpA made an announcement as this week started. They said that the much-waited second-generation iPhone from Apple Inc. will be available at their TIM retail stores by July 11, just like the selling date of the device in United States and other 20 countries as well.

During the announcement, the spokesperson of the Telecom Italia mentioned that the 3G iPhone has already been proven to operate in their network successfully. Aside from that, Telecom Italia also said that the second-generation iPhone have all the features needed in a smartphone combined with an excellent 3G technology. Through the




3G technology, the improved iPhone works twice as fast as the original iPhone that was launched a year ago.

Starting on July 11, 2008, consumers may rush to any of the 2,600 TIM retail outlets.

For those who choose to become a prepaid customer, the 3G iPhone with 8GB can be availed for as much as EUR499. The 16GB model on the other hand, can be purchased at EUR569.

However, if they want to sign up for a contract instead, the 3G iPhone with 8GB is offered in subscription packages. The initial cost will start on EUR199 and the value will depend on the chosen tariff plan.
