For the past few months, Mac fans are going crazy about the latest news regarding the App Store. However, the debut of the second-generation iPhone is no longer about the App Store but about the mobile phone companies distributing the said device.

The carriers in Australia have opened their stores to the public for the customers of the highly-anticipated smartphone from Apple Inc. This includes Vodafone, Optus, and Telstra.

Early morning of July 11, hundreds of people had already lined up outside the stores of Telstra as well as Vodafone to get their hands on 3G iPhone. However, Optus opened its

stores during midnight.

The debut of the 3G iPhone in Vodafone’s store was hosted by a famous model, Lara Bingle, and a local radio host, Bianca Dye. As early as 7 o’clock, the employees of Vodafone are already handing out coffees to all the customers who are in line despite the morning chill.

On the other hand, the debut of the 3G iPhone in Telstra is a low-key affair compared to Vodafone. Their store is just a few blocks away from Vodafone’s. The people who queued at Telstra fell in line around the corner. They were seen in groups of three to four.
