The latest iPhone from Apple Inc. is already in the market of Tokyo, Japan. When it has its debut in the country, there were at least 30 seconds of swirling smoke while the hundred of people on queue chanted to the countdown.

While other Apple Inc. stores worldwide are still closed, the store of Sotfbank Corp. located in Tokyo’s downtown is already entertaining 3G iPhone customers. Softbank Corp. opened its stores at least five hours ahead of the other mobile phone stores located in Japan.

The debut (and celebration at the same time) included a display of a digital clock at the entrance of the store. This will also be done in other countries where the 3G iPhone




will debut on July 11. Other Asia-Pacific countries where the 3G iPhone will soon be available include Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.

According to Masayoshi Son, the President of Softbank Corp, 2008 is the year that the mobile phones become a real machine that can access the World Wide Web. Masayoshi Son considers July 11, 2008 a historical day in the world of mobile phone industry.

One of the customers of the 3G iPhone is the 38-year old banker named Tomohiko Katsu said that he had never lined up just for a device. But the 3G iPhone is different. He wanted to make sure that he gets the second-generation iPhone which he considers as an all-in-one mobile PC device.
