Comments on: Tom Tom iPhone kit delayed until October

I have recently bought the iphone app, (today) and I am worried that you can not by the car kit by itself, without the app again. Does anyone have an answer for this?
Initial opinion on the app running on a 3GS, very good but it seems incomplete without the docking station and being able to link it to my ice system. Otherwise I might as well have bought a sat nav head unit!!!

The iPhone app was my first experience with TomTom and I’m unimpressed. Very outdated maps, no updates, and none of the features that are standard in stand-alone GPS’s.
I’m wondering how bad the car kit is going to be. They’re well past their summer release date and this indicates to me they put marketing ahead of everything else. At the proposed $120US it better be exceptional

Also just wanted to add TomTom are charged way too much for there App and dock! You could buy one of there proper satnavs for cheaper!! >:(

Well I went for CoPilot instead on TomTom, and I believe it is currently better then TomTom’s App. But always thought I might get the TomTom one. Glad I didn’t as I would have wanted the dock too. Hopefully by October TomTom’s App sales will have declined and the price might be dropped to a more suitable level I will have another look at it again then.

As for TomTom – Come on pull your finger out! Your so slow at everything!

Anyone else gettig sick of non news about Tomtom. They need to work on the app itself. It is vanilla with no bells and whistles. It can’t find a lot of addresses. Only saving grace is IQ.
