You don’t have to wait that long. Soon enough, iPhone users may use voice chat on their iPhone via instant messenger. One of companies popular in IP communications recently announced their SDK that allows their Voice over IP applications to be used for Apple Inc.’s mobile phone – the iPhone.

Global IP Solutions said that the developers may now use their company’s VoiceEngine Mobile so that they may create VoIP applications including games and community-networking application. Of course, they can also make applications that allow the users to make calls going to regular phones over the web. If developers will push through, you will soon be able to take advantage of

your instant messenger so that you may voice chat with your contacts using your iPhone.

Unfortunately, the VoiceEngine Mobile from Global IP Solutionss can only work through the Wi-Fi connection of the iPhone. It cannot be used and would not work with the latest 3G connection of the latest iPhone.

Apple Inc. does not allow the use of the VoIP via data connection of the carrier. Of course, AT&T would also not support the VoIP that would cost them their long distance phone business. But since the 3G coverage of AT&T is still unreliable, according to most of the iPhone users, they are hoping that this would change in the near future.
