Greg’s earlier post on how his iPhone has yet to replace his iPod intrigued me for a few reasons so I’d thought I’d add my side to the matter.

I didn’t mean to use the iPod features of the iPhone when I first considered purchasing the device. I already had an 80 GB iPod Video and it sufficed for my needs. However I was lured in by one thing: convergence.

The concept of having a multi operate device that could fit in my pocket eventually became very appealing to me. The iPhone Was slimmer than the iPod yet boasted a massive screen compared to that tiny 2.5 inch LCD.

whether I had used my iPhone for everything else and my iPod for managing my media library I would have to carry 2 devices with me at all times. I considered that and I realized that carrying just an iPhone,

no matter how inferior it was in terms of storage would better suit me.

But next again my needs are different than yours. I never utilized the full capacity of my iPod even when using it to store my entire library. Even thereupon I only watched the latest Podcasts, listened to a few songs here and there and used it for archival aims.

I have since learned to adapt my needs and since the iPhone is a multi operate device I won’t be focusing so much on the iPod features but the Net and calling. whether I am so worried about video and music composition thereupon I should’ve rethought my purchase. I don’t have much moment to watch 80GBs worth of videos and music so the additional capabilities of the iPwn manufacture up for the lack of storage.
