July 11 will be the release of the 3G iPhone in 22 countries wourldwide. Will there be another country and another mobile service operator to carry the iPhone before this day? Well, the wireless operator in Russia called VimpelCom mentioned their interest in carrying the iPhone in the country. According to its Chief Executive, Alexander Izosimov, nobody in Russia has made a deal with Apple Inc. just yet. However, VimpelCom is planning to do so and they love to sign a paper together with the makers of 3G iPhone.

However, Alexander Izosimov said that as of the moment, still there are no negotiations are taking place. Moreover, they have no idea if they

will be able to get rights to sell the smartphone from Apple Inc. But when he was interviewed by the BusinessWeek, Izosimov said that he is looking at different areas where he can maintain the growth of VimpelCom. As for now, adding the latest device such as the iPhone may help them get into the broadband business.

But getting the rights to distribute the iPhone is actually not that easy. VimpelCom would like to join Apple Inc. in selling the highly-anticipated device in Russia, and so does its major rivals – MegaFon and Mobile TeleSystems. The spokeman of Mobile TeleSystems said that they too would love to sell the iPhone in Russia this year.
