Unlocked second-generation Iphones are now rampant in two countries namely China and Russia. However, Apple Inc. does not seem to be in a hurry to sign a deal with the mobile phone operators in the said countries so that they can officially distribute the 3G iPhone in these markets.

The 3G iPhone is being prepared to be launched in 49 more countries. This includes Honduras and Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, Russia as well as China is not on Apple Inc.’s list. These two countries are considered as the home of almost half of the mobile users in the whole world.

Before the 3G iPhone had

its debut, Apple Inc. and China Mobile already had a few meetings regarding the distribution of the 3G iPhone in the country. But the deal did not pushed through because of the revenue-sharing issue that Apple Inc. insisted. However, after a few more meetings, Apple Inc. already gave up and dropped it insistence regarding the revenue-sharing. However, they weren’t able to provide a timetable as to when the second-generation iPhone will be launched in China.

Some says that Apple Inc. is just afraid to sell the 3G iPhone in these two countries because the smartphone black market is flourishin. Others are thinking that Apple is maybe losing out.
