The oneSearch from Yahoo will soon become the default search engine of MEdia Net from AT&T. The MEdia Net is a mobile phone portal that is usually used by the internet-enabled phones of the companies around United States. Yahoo will be providing the mobile-sponsored advertising as well. Being the exclusive carrier of iPhone in the country, some people expected that AT&T would include the Apple Inc.’s device in this deal but for some reason the iPhone was not included..

According to Michael Bowling, the Vice President of AT&T’s converged services, their customers want a convenient as well as an intuitive mobile search. So if Yahoo and oneSearch will work together,

AT&T will be able to deliver that kind of experience to their customers.

The search engine was made to give the most relevant results to the users of the mobile phone. It can comb though financial information, news, weather, entertainment, Flickr photos and a whole lot more. There will also be relevant contents such as games as well as ringtones coming from the Media Mall of AT&T.

Just a few days ago, InformationWeek published a report regarding the companies who are using PDA’s, smartphones, and even pocket PCs so that they may access corporate apps. The report’s goal is to give some perspective about the deal made by Yahoo and AT&T.
