Yes, we are capping France’s 3G speeds – Orange
Recently, according to FranceInfo, Orange the exclusive carrier of Apple Inc.’s iPhone in France has admitted that they are capping the company’s 3G download speeds. This happened when Orange received so many rants and complaints from the iPhone users as well as numerous Orange customers comparing the speed that they get to the download speed of the other countries in Europe.

iPhone users who are using the services from T-Mobile network located in Germany claimed that they have been getting download speed that is more than 1800 kbps. On the other hand, Orange network from France is struggling to get the download speed of 400 kbps.
The technical support lines of Orange are now jammed with thousands of calls about the slow download speeds. There are even some cases that Orange’s support technicians have voluntarily renamed the tech variables and the Access Point name so that the download speed would increase. The customers have reported speeds more than 3 mbps.
The second-generation iPhone users based in France immediately suspected the provider of capping the 3G speeds after many of them have compared Orange’s speed to other networks. Many of these complainants argued that what Orange is doing is a direct violation of the agreements between them and the exclusive carrier.
